1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar techniques such as localStorage are also covered by the term "cookies" in this policy.
2. Which cookies clavify.io uses
Essential cookies (always active)
The site doesn't work without these cookies. No consent is required for them:
- Login session (Clerk): keeps you logged in to your account. Retention: up to 7 days after your last visit.
- Cookie preference: remembers your choice in the cookie banner, so we don't ask again on every visit. Retention: 12 months.
- Language preference: remembers which language (Dutch or English) you want to see the site in. Retention: 12 months.
- Payment session (Stripe): only during checkout, for secure payment and fraud prevention.
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
- Google Analytics 4: gives us insight into how visitors use the site (which pages, how long, from where). Only loaded after your consent via the cookie banner. Retention: up to 14 months.
- Clavify's own visitor counter: stores a random session identifier in your browser (
clavify_sid) to count how many people are on the site at the same time. Not used for advertising, no third party. Retention in our database: a maximum of 90 days.
Marketing cookies (only with your consent)
- Meta pixel (Facebook/Instagram): measures which ads lead to a visit or purchase, so we can improve our advertising. Sets the cookies
_fbpand_fbc. Only loaded after you click "Accept". Retention: up to 90 days.
Cookieless statistics
- Vercel Analytics: fully anonymized page statistics without cookies and without individual tracking. No consent is required for this.
3. Your choice
On your first visit, the cookie banner offers three options: accept all (analytics and marketing), analytics only (Google Analytics and our own visitor counter, no Meta pixel) or decline (essential cookies only). If you decline, the site continues to work completely normally.
Want to change or withdraw your choice later? Click "Change cookie preferences" at the bottom of any page. The banner reappears and your new choice takes effect immediately. Withdrawing is always possible and just as easy as giving consent.
4. Deleting cookies in your browser
You can always delete or block cookies yourself via your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge → settings → privacy). Note: if you block essential cookies, you won't be able to log in anymore.
